Expressive Tools for Guitarists - Musical expression does not come from feeling alone.  We need tools such as dynamic control, color variety, vibrato, agogics, and phrasing.  In this workshop we explore helpful exercises that develop expressive skills, that are then applied to sections of the participants' repertoire.

Career Development for Young Musicians - Having a fulfilling musical career does not come from luck or talent.  It comes from planning, networking, and behaving with professionalism.  What materials do you need - a bio, photos, recordings, videos?  How do you professionally stay in touch with others in the field?  Define your career goals, and move toward them.

Fundamental Guitar Technique - When we play guitar we are effectively coordinating a large number of actions.  This workshop examines two ways to improve your technique.  First, we break down the actions required to play well, examine them, and find small improvements we can achieve. Second, we work at coordinating all these actions better through training your attention-rotation - a method that helps ypur attention be in the right place at the right time, as opposed to having a reactionary attention that just follows mistakes. 

Practice: Habits, Techniques, and Results - So you are ready to spend some time with the guitar, the music, your body, and your musical intelligence and sensibility.  Great.  Now what?  Here are some excellent practice methods that will boost your playing. Learn to distinguish your tendencies from your decisions - "if this works better, why do I find myself doing that instead?"
