Corando Paulino is one of he very best Jazz musicians in Brazil today. I had the opportunity to study with him for a few years in the 1980's. His latest CD was the second most downloaded for ten days at All About Jazz - check it out:

Duo Guadalupe back in business - new MP3s
-
January 2, 2008
After months of recess, Ellen Leitner and I are planing the next season to include another quintet concert, recording Paganini's Centoni di Sonata, and a little touring. Our recent run-through of some material was a lot of fun - she's using a different instrument and bow, having a great time. She's also been developing repertoire for violin and piano, and has a CD of her own out, all of music of our friend Father Blanch.
So I've added MP3s of two live performances to celebrate: A la Raya del Monte is a Spanish song arranged by San Andres, adapted for violin and guitar by Ellen. Polo is by Manuel de Falla. Here's the link (the songs is at the bottom of the page:

Keith Vizcarra strikes again!
-
December 24, 2007
I'm having a blast playing my old and trusted Sergio Abreu guitar - it's gonna be 20 years old soon! I just got it back from luthier Keith Vizcarra who generously works on my instruments while building his own - wonderful - ones. After a fret dress, set-up and other general maintenance, a great instrument really plays up to its full potential.
