Yesterday, I just finished editing the last track for the upcoming CD "Music of Spain."  I'm excited to hear the final mastering soon.  Two new recording projects include some of my favorite Latin American composers: Piazzolla and Gismonti. I love my job.

After a week of see turtles, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, margaritas, snorkeling sun burn, cave diving, and almost too many hours of dancing every day, I need a break.  So I'm back to work.

My friend Hunter, who had moved out west a few months ago, is back in Santa Fe - and in the neighborhood!  Hunter studied guitar with Frank Koonce at ASU, and is looking for students.

 I guess we all have an episode of GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) every ten years or so... It looks like Robert Ruck will be making me a guitar this spring - I know I said that last year, but you can't rush these guys.  Plus I've been waiting since 1993, so what's another year or so?  Also, I just commissioned a guitar by Jeremy Cooper, a very fine new luthier, and I'm trying to get a guitars of his for Adams State College, and for some students.  I really can't imagine better guitars than the Abreu and Giussani I've loved for years - in their styles - so the new ones are dramatically different.

I'm playing Ariel Ramirez's Missa Criolla in Las Vegas, November 22nd. Andre Garcia-Nuthmann runs a first rate vocal program there - this should be great. I've also been slowly putting together Manuel de Falla's "Siete Canciones" with Andre - we have about 20 minutes a week to work with, but it's coming along beatifully.

Wishing all the best to the incredible singer, songwriter and sound engineer Joey Bradley, who just moved to Hawaii.  He'll fix your Mac too, but they never break...

Solo album in the works - all Spanish music. I'm recording at Scott Cardenasso's studio, and it sounds great. Hopefully all the tracks will be done this summer, and it can be out sometime this fall. Then, the Latin-American one.

It looks like I'll be getting a new guitar! I got on Ruck's waiting list back in 1993! It looks like he'll be able to make me a guitar this year. How many guitars does a guitar player need? Just one more!

Last year I recorded a suite of tangos by Ron Strauss with Carol Redman on flute and Pamela Epple on English horn. I just got a copy of the CD, hot from the presses.
