The Music Department at NMHU presents a showcase os stellar student and faculty performances. I'll be playing a few Piazzolla arrangements by Sergio Assad, and maybe Daniel Wolf's FANTASTIC version of Loro, by Egberto Gismonti.
Antonio is graduation from ASC this semester and is presenting his Senior Recital. Other than guitar classics with a Latin flair - Piazzolla, Barrios - I hope he does some of his original music. Antonio plays like he listens, so don't miss it.
This is my first solo concert as part of the UWC faculty - I've been looking forward to playing the for a while.
Dwan Light Sanctuary is a stunning building designed by Virginia Dwan, Charles Ross and Laban Wingert. Its orientation and the alignment of the prisms on the ceiling and walls create interacting spectrums all over the interior. Arrive early - before sundown - and check it out. Gabriel is an old friend and a great guitarist. We'll be playing solo sets and duets, including Astor Piazzolla's "Tango Suite."
